The present paper is a result of the authors' three years of botanical exploration of the Gora Range of Rajpipla forests. The forests are Mixed Dry Deciduous type with Tectona grandis as the major constituent. In all 460 plant species have been listed, of which 393 belong to dicotyledons, 64 to monocotyledons and 3 belong to pteridophytes.- Fertility Status of Magnaporthe Grisea Populations from Finger Millet

Two hundred twenty nine isolates of Magnaporthe grisea were collected from finger millet cultivars at 14 locations in north India (Uttarakhand) and two locations in south India (Tamilnadu&Karnataka). Each isolate was tested for the mating types (Male fertile and female sterile) using standard fertile testers. Per cent isolates that neither mated nor produced perithecia was high among isolates collected from south India than those from Uttarakhand. Male fertile and hermaphrodite isolates from cooler region showed greater efficiency to produce perithecia. Results revealed that distribution of mating type varied with geographical region. Male fertile and female sterile isolates segregated in 1:1 ratio among field isolates collected from both north and south India. Field isolates from north India showed equal probability of getting male fertile, female sterile and hermaphrodite isolates, which suggested that probability for sexual reproduction in the population of M. grisea existed in nature in the central Himalayas of India.Keywords

The present investigation was carried out in different moist temperate forests of Garhwal Himalaya. The fruiting bodies of macrofungi were collected from these forests between July 2008 and September 2009. Frequent field visits and collections were made within the elevation range of 550-2500 msl in the districts Pauri, Tehri, Chamoli and Rudraprayag. As a result of an extensive field survey and microscopic study in laboratory, 40 taxa belonging to 11 families were identified. Two families and 2 taxa belonged to class- Ascomycetes viz: Family-Helvellaceae and Morchellaceae, and nine families and 38 taxa to class-Basidiomycetes viz: Family-Agaricaceae, Amanitaceae, Boletaceae, Cantharellaceae, Coprinaceae, Ganodermataceae Hydnagiaceae, Lycoperdaceae and Russulaceae. Some macrofungi are also being used as medicine viz: Morchella esculenta, Hydnum repandum, Agaricus campestris, Cantharellus cibarius, Coprinus comatus and Ganoderma lucidum.Keywords

Nelumbo - The Bulletin of the Botanical Survey of India, Vol 11, No 3-4 (1969), Pagination: 311-321Abstract
The vegetation, and flora of Knedbrahma region of north Gujarat are discussed and the preliminary data based on two years survey are presented in this paper. 554 species have been enumerated which comprised 448 dicotyledons and 102 monocotyledons. Two new records for India namely, Desmodium neo-mexicanum A. Gray and Dalechampia scandens Linn. var. cordofana (Hochst.) Muell.-Arg. have been reported from this area under study. Five species such as Polycarpon tetraphyllum Linn., Melhania futteyporensis Munro ex Mast., Indigofera angulosa Edgew., Pulicaria crispa (Forsk.) Oliv. and Operculina petaloidea (Ghoisy) Van Oost., not mentioned in Cooke's flora of Presidency of Bombay (1901-1908) have been reported from the area.- A New Species of Solanum Linn. from Gujarat, India
